Visakhapatnam Magnetic Observatory has started functioning from July 1994. It is situated in the campus of the Andhra University at Sivajipalem, Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This observatory is situated on the east cost of India and the magnetic data from the Visakhapatnam Observatory is also used for diurnal corrections from the base station for the Marine Magnetic Measurements off the Bay of Bengal Coast.
