The Ujjain Observatory was started under the Geomagnetic Meridian Project in collaboration with IZMIRAN in the year 1975 to study the interaction between Magnetosphere and Low Latitude Ionosphere. This observatory functioned in the Campus of Vikram University, Ujjain. Due to logistic problems this observatory was closed down in May 2003.
