This
Observatory is located near the village of Krishnapuram
close to Tirunelveli Town in Tamilnadu. The Magnetic
equator passes through the southern peninsular region
of India. Since 1999 after the closing down of the equatrial
observatory Trivandrum, data from Tirunelveli maintains
the continuity of magnetic measurement from the Indian
Equatorial Region.
